Match Report

Treaty Strike At The Death To Steal Point

A late header by Marc Walsh gave Treaty a point as they rescued a 2-2 draw away to Bray Wanderers.

A stunning Edogun finish put the away side ahead before a Jake Walker double turned the game on its head. In the 94th minute however, Treaty found a last gasp equaliser through the head of their number 25.

Both sides tentatively felt their way into the game, but it was a goal all of the making of Success Edogun which opened the scoring in the 12th minute. The Treaty number 9 took down a long ball and turned away from his marker. He then hit an audacious effort from over 30 yards out. At first, it looked certain to be sailing over the bar but at the last minute, it dipped, and to a stunned Connor in the Bray net and the crowd, ended up in the back of the net.

Bray was stunned by this, and it took them a while to get back into the match, but they finished the half stronger, even if they could have easily conceded a second if not for the intervention of Sean Quinn to head another Edogun effort onto the crossbar.

The Seagulls had their own chance cleared off the goal line too, a looping Chris Lyons header was booted away by Andrew Spain just before it crossed the goal-line.

Bray turned up their gears in the second half and got their just awards in the 74th minute. It was two substitutes who combined for the Wicklow side as Conor Davis played a lovely reverse pass in behind the Treaty defence to the on running Jake Walker who calmly slotted past Chambers to equalise.

No less than three minutes later Walker had his second as Bray completely turned the game on its head. A lovely flick on by Mahdy put their striker through on goal again. In much the same vein as his first, he placed his finish into the bottom corner, these two goals being his first for the club.

It was now Treaty’s turn to begin knocking at the door and in the dying embers of the game they got their reward for it. A deep free kick from Ludden was met by the head of Marc Walsh. His effort caused all sorts of trouble for Connor in the Bray goal, and he could do nothing to prevent it going into his net and to send the travelling fans into raptures as Treaty now return to Limerick with a well fought point.
