Super Shane Hallahan earned his name this evening as the Treaty Goalkeeper made a string of fine saves to ensure the Shannonsiders left the Markets Field with a point this evening.

What started as a calamity for the home side, ended with a hard fought draw, keeping them in the promotion fight, five points behind their opponents in seventh place, a long time awaits to see who will take those four spots, but Tommy Barret’s side are still in contention.

Enda Curran produced a moment of magic to counter a moment of calamitous circumstances with a failed back pass at the other end, but it was the man between the posts for Treaty who kept them in the tie, he may have hesitated a little for the goal but made up for it as the game wore on.

Both sides pressed early looking for a chance, the best of the early chances came to the hosts, on the edge of the area Colin Conroy had a shot saved by Stephen McGuinness, the effort straight at the Bray keeper, lacked power and Bray dealt with the danger.

At the other end Treaty looked to have just fallen asleep a little at the back as Ben Feeney pounced on a horrible back pass from Conroy, Shane Hallahan raced out of goal but stopped, Feeney then rounded the keeper and shot to the net from an acute angle, at one end it looked like we would have a goal and at the other a massive error saw the Seagulls ahead.

Treaty tried to find an instant reply, Willie Armshaw raced clear and tried to play in Enda Curran, the ball failed to sit right and his shot at goal tailed wide, again at the other end Bray were looking dangerous, Dane Massey was denied with a brilliant save by Shane Hallahan, a reaction save denying Bray a second from a powerful header from a free kick, Chris Lyons was lurking but he was unable to pounce.

The equaliser arrived after 15 minutes and it was Curran who for the second week in a row bagged for Treaty, Marc Ludden orchestrating the assist, a delightful ball to find his striker and Curran lobbed McGuinness to equalise.

Chances still flowed for both sides, Hallahan needed to be alert to get down to his near post to deny Ben Feeney, before Curran almost got a touch to an Armshaw cross but Bray could breathe easy as he failed to double his tally for the evening.

Hallahan was the busier of the two keepers, Feeney again looking to find the target, he struck a left footed effort from inside the box, but the Treaty keeper tipped it over with a terrific save.

It was a fairly even half, but after these chances started to dwindle, the teams going into the dressing rooms deadlocked, Treaty did well to stay composed from going behind early, Hallahan was the man to thank as he thwarted Bray with three or four big chances.

McGuinness made a stunning finger tip save to deny Curran in the first major chance of the second half, it looked destined for the net as he went for another chip, but the Bray keeper managed to save, at the other end just before hand Lyons almost got a touch on a Max Murphy cross but it failed to trouble Hallahan.

The Bray keeper again denied Treaty after the hour mark, Dean George headed a Ludden free kick goal bound but the frame of McGuinness was there to save at the second time of asking, the best chance of the half for the hosts to take the lead.

Chances were few and far between for the visitors, Luka Lovic shot from outside the box was wayward over the Treaty goal, pressure was on bray for large parts of the end of the contest, Dean George looked to be through on goal but went down inside the area, the referee waved away any protests.

Hallahan was needed again at the other end as pressure was applied from Bray, they had a host of chances lined up but Jake Walker had his effort smothered by the Treaty keeper, it was again Hallahan to produce another big moment in added time, Murphy with a dangerous cross into the area, Lovic got a touch but a point blank save by the keeper ensured Bray were not going to snatch another late win on Shannonside this season.
