On Friday night St. Pat's cut the gap on leaders Rovers to just one point. City are six points behind eighth place Drogheda Utd.

City though have had the edge of Rovers this season. Their first meeting ended in a thrilling 4-4 draw while the game at Turners Cross finished in a 1-0 win for City. Rovers ended that game with 8 players.

Cork City are ninth in the table. In their last game they lost 2-0 at home to Shelbourne.

In that last league game Rovers drew 0-0 with Drogheda Utd. Since then they've had a disappointing European campaign and were knocked out of the Sports Direct FAI Cup by Dundalk
