Match Report
Dublin Derby Finishes In Stalemate
Despite dominating most of the proceedings Shamrock Rovers were held to a scoreless draw by their Dublin rivals Bohemians at Dalymount Park.
The draw moves Rovers top of the table, albeit for a few hours at least, as Peamount who join them on 28 points play at 5pm.
A record breaking crowd of 1,256 spectators were at the Phibsborough venue. Rovers had chances but were unable to find a way past Bohs keeper Rachael Doyle. Bohs didn’t create too much, with Sarah Rowe having their best chance of the game.
Bohs extend their unbeaten run to six games while Rovers maintain their unbeaten record.
The visitors were on top in the opening half and had a number of chances to break the deadlock. In the sixth minute Lia O’Leary took a shot but it went straight into the hands of Bohs keeper Kelly.
In the 10th minute Sarah Rowe hit a shot but it was blocked by Jessica Hennessy. Rovers keeper Amanda Bludden hadn’t to make a save as her side continued to control the game. In the 17th minute O’Leary’s shot went over the bar.
Melissa O’Kane cut out a Bohs chance in the 21st minute after they won two corners in a row. Rovers broke but Alannah McEvoy’s effort went wide. Minutes later Larkin shot over the bar.
Rovers continued to press but failed to find the net. Their best chance fell in the 33rd minute when Aine O’Gorman got by Kelly but she dragged her shot just wide. Bohs could’ve taken the lead but Bludden recovered well to make an excellent save to prevent Sarah Rowe’s stinging strike from going over the line.
It was more of the same from Rovers in the second half. Kelly made a fine save from a well struck strike from O’Kane in the 63rd minute. Bohs tried to get Rovers on the counter but Rovers defended well.
At times Rovers were so comfortable on the ball that Bohs failed to gain possession. Rovers went in search of a winner but Bohs held on. It was only the second time this season that Rovers failed to find the target.

Rovers very much on top in this game
Rovers have started the game well.
Bohs drew away to DLR Waves last weekend while Rovers recorded their eighth win of the season with a 2-1 win at home to Galway Utd.
Bohs are fourth in the table, while Rovers lie in second, one point behind the leaders Peamount, and can go top, albeit for a few hours, if they win here.
Since Bohs lost that game they are on a run of four wins and one draw. Rovers have yet to taste defeat this season; the only team in the league with that record.
It's the second meeting between these two sides this season. Rovers defeated Bohs 4-0 earlier at Tallaght Stadium
It's a beautiful day for a Dublin derby at Dalymount Park
