Bohs made it three wins from four with victory over struggling Sligo Rovers this evening in Dalymount.

Lisa Murphy’s second header in a week off a fantastic Doyle corner opened the scoring just after the 20 minute mark with Bohs well in control of the game up to and beyond this point.

The home side used all their experience to see the game out as time went on as they secured the points once more and kept in touch with the chasing pack towards the top.

Both these sides are on the road next week with Sligo visiting Cork City whilst Bohs head to the South East to face Wexford, both games set for next Saturday.

Bohemians controlled the majority of the ball early on but Sligo looked comfortable defending. The Rovers press was looking dangerous early on as Emma Doherty did well to dispossess the Bohs back line which Howe ended up with an effort on target from. The hosts looked to push on after this and it was not long before they took the lead.

The opening goal of the game came at the halfway point of the first half. Rachel Doyle with a corner off the right found the unmarked Lisa Murphy in the box who headed home from close range as she had all the space in the world to pick up her second goal in a week having opened her tally last week in Turner’s Cross.

Sligo did try to get the ball on the turf and play a bit more having gone behind but Bohemians were very strong defensively. Murphy the goal scorer was playing excellent at the back with Katie Lovely, who replaced the injured Katie Burdis early on also having an impact.

Sligo came out of the half time break the better of the two sides as they continued to try get back into the fixture. Again they looked comfortable on the ball but Bohs were happy to defend and allow shots from range trusting the ability of Kelly in net behind them.

Bonnie McKiernan was excellent under the high ball in the second half as Bohs put her to the test on a number of occasions with crosses from the right but she was able to deal with the pressure and keep her side in this game as the clock ticked into the final half hour.

Bohemians showed their experience as time wore on, holding possession and not rushing play leading to unforced errors that might cost their side here.
