FULL TIME: Dundalk secured a rare away win the second of the season at the Showgrounds with a 1-0 win for the Lilywhites against Sligo Rovers. Daryl Horgan scored midway through the first half to secure the three points in a game they dominated and controlled for large periods. Sligo did push in the latter stages of the game but a late goal from second half substitute Sam Durrant in the final minutes of the game ensured that Dundalk’s defence held firm with the attack ruthless when needed to be to take the points back to Oriel Park.

GOAL: Archie Davies sends the ball down the right and hits a perfect pass to Sam Durrant to slot the ball home.

SAVE: What a save from Nathan Sheppard to deny Brannefalk after a perfect weighted pass to the Sligo Rovers was denied at an angle by the Dundalk keeper.

RED: Robbie Burton gets two yellow cards in quick succession and are now down to ten men, he fouled Malley and gets a yellow and for his reaction and kicking the ball away he gets a second yellow.

YELLOW: Hartmann gets a yellow card for a foul and reaction to the decision.

CHANCE: Sennan Mullen picks the ball up on the edge of the area but the Dundalk defenders curling effort just goes wide.

CHANCE: O'Kane the provider this time as he breaks down the right and sends the ball into Sloggett whose slight touch is well saved.

CHANCE: Archie Davies cross to O'Kane sees the midfielders first time shot blocked down inside the area and the ball is cleared.

SECOND HALF: We are back underway at the Showgrounds.

HALF TIME: A frantic first half with plenty of pace and chances but Dundalk are the one who have converted this chance with a goal from Daryl Horgan.

ADDED TIME: Four added minutes here in the Showgrounds.

CHANCE: O'Kane cuts into the middle and breaks down on the Sligo goal but his effort just goes over the bar.

Connor Malley comes on to replace Robbie Benson who went down injuried.

BOLGER: A Super strike from Greg Bolger on the edge of the area sees Sheppard pushing the ball away for a corner, Sheppard is furious with his defence for trying to clear the ball across the face of goal.

CHANCE: Benson with a quick free kick that tried to decieve Walsh with a flick on goal by Horgan but it is well saved.

BENSON: Benson picks the ball of Buckley and breaks dow the left and forces Walsh into a super save.

DUNDALK: Dundalk it seems are looking to add more tempo and pace to thier games and are doing so in this contest. Archie Davies had a chance to send the ball in on the runners but it skies over.

HORGAN: Daryl breaks again and cuts onto his right and sees Walsh off his line but his chip from the edge of the area goes high over the bar.

HORGAN: Goal number 33 that for Dundalk for Daryl Horgan, putting him level with Robbie Benson and Tony Cousins. It's a fourth assist of the season for Elliott

GOAL: Benson picks the pocket of a Sligo player and releases Cameron Elliot down the right flank, he plays the ball across the box to Darly Horgan who could take a touch and get the ball past Walsh to open the scoring.

CHANCE: Hartman with an excellent shot on the edge of the area that is deflected for a corner, it all came from some great break up play from Greg Bolger.

BENSON: Big chance for Dundalk once again, Benson's free kick is not cleared and the second ball from Senan Mullen found Benson running in with his effort just just going over.

Both sides are really pressing here for an opener, this game is being played at a very high tempo. Sligo looking to carve a chance but Dundalk are holding firm.

CHANCE: What a chance for Dundalk ! A corner from Horgan to the near post sees the ball failing to be cleared and Annesley strikes the side netting.

MULLEN: What a week it has been for Cootehill man Senan Mullen. Having made his Republic of Ireland U19 debut against Scotland last week before starting in the 3-0 win over the Faroe Islands last Saturday, the midfielder makes his first senior start for Dundalk tonight having made his debut off the bench against Cork City on September 25th
