Super Sub Kinsella Rescues Point for UCD in Cork
Substitute Danu Kinsella's 66th minute goal cancelled out Cian Bargary's effort to ensure UCD left Turners Cross with a 1-1 against Cork City tonight.
After a slow start with both teams attempting to feel their way into the game, City began to take control of proceedings through Cian Bargary and Barry Coffey who linked up well together throughout the opening half.
City's new signing Ben Worman had the game's first chance on 16 minutes when his long ranged effort forced a great save out of UCD goalkeeper Tieran Healy.
Bargary also went close four minutes later after linking up well with Kevin Custovic before his shot went just over the bar.
The former academy graduate would get his goal in the 26th minute however when his shot went through the legs of Healy to give City a precious 1-0 lead.
Jaze Kabia nearly doubled City's lead in the 35th minute with his effort going just wide of the left hand post.
While UCD were second best in the first half, they did look threatening on the break through the pace of Jake Doyle and Adam Vernon.
The second half began in a similar vein to the first before Barry Coffey nearly doubled City's lead after getting on the end of a great team move.
The game entered a lull period as it entered the hour mark before UCD hit City with a sucker punch through Danu Kinsella who struck home in the 66th minute to level the game at 1-1.
Liam Buckley rang the substitutes soon after with both Ruairi Keating and Tunde Owolabi coming on as City looked to regain the lead. Worman came closes six minutes from time when his volleyed effort was well save by Healy.
Try as they might however, City could not get the all important breakthrough as the game finished 1-1 leaving both sides rooted to 9th and 10th respectively.

Full time as the points are shared. Andy Meyler will certainly be the happier of the two managers as City continue to frustrate.
Four minutes of injury time to be added on.
Bargary finds Worman whose volley fails to beat Healy in the UCD goal.
City pushing for the lead with Ruairi Keating's shot deflected out for a corner, the result of which is cleared.
Tunde Owolabi on for CIty in place of Kabia.
Sub for City as Ruairi Keating comes on for Rokas Stanulevičius
I said UCD would have to open up and well, Danu Bishop levels for UCD with a clinical finish to make it 1-1.
The game has entered a bit of a lull in the last few minutes as we hit the hour mark with not much action to speak of. City look comfortable while UCD will need top open up if they want to get back into this.
Coffey gets on the end of a great team move but his shot is well saved by Healy.
Back underway. No changes to either side at the break it appears.
Half time with City leading 1-0 at the break through Cian Bargary's goal just before the half hour mark.
Into added time here in the first half.
Jazd Kabia nearly doubles City's lead with his shot going just inches wide of the left hand post.
UCD need to get hold of possession and string a few passes together. At the moment they are playing second fiddle but do have pace through the likes of Jake Doyle and Adam Vernon if they can get them on the ball more.
Bargary puts City in front as his shot goes through the legs of Healy. 1-0.
Nice one two between Bargary and Custovic which ends in Bargary's shot going just over. Much better from City however.
City nearly take the lead through new signing Ben Worman who forces a great save out of UCD keeper Lorcan Healy after a terrific strike.
Bargary hits a great ball over the top for Coffey but UCD do well to clear it.
City are enjoying more of the ball so far with the Students appearing content to sit back and try hit them on the break, even enough game so far however.
Pretty slow start to the game here with no chances to speak of so far. Both sides looking to suss each other out.
Game on.
