Bohs Finish 2023 On A High
Bohemians finished with a flourish as Mia Dodd's first half penalty proved enough to beat Treaty United at Dalymount Park.
Both teams entered this final league fixture in dour form, Bohs' winless since June and Treaty, languishing in tenth, seeking only a second league win of the season.
An uneventful first half didn't give the Dalymount Park a whole lot to shout about, especially in a clash between two low-scoring teams, the first goal would prove all important.
Despite flickers in attack from Katie Lovely and Rachel McGrath, Bohs' were sporadic at best.
Then came the breakthrough in the thirty-fourth minute, referee, Marc Lynch, penalising Katie Lawlee's challenge as he pointed to the spot.
Mia Dodd confidently dispatched the spot kick as Bohs went ahead, the half time interval looming into view.
After the break, Bohs, whilst spurred on, couldn't find a seemingly elusive second goal early on.
Both benches made a switch, but Treaty were up against it, defender, Grace Mcinerney taking a booking to prevent Bohs scampering through an again vacant back door.
Good game management and Treaty toothlessness saw the hosts hold out and bank three points as attention turns to 2024 for both Bohs and Treaty after the last gasp of this year's league action ended in a slender win for Bohs.
