Danny Rafferty goes very close to putting Derry ahead after he was fed by Brandon Kavanagh, Anang makes a good save the near post but Rafferty will be dissapointed to have missed there.

Derry coming back into it now. Great solo effort from Will Patching who jinks past a couple of defenders before his shot is blocked at the near post. Akintunde goes even closer seconds later as his shot flies across the face of goal but no one can get a foot onto it.

Chris Forrester nearly puts Pats ahead. Lovely footwork before using his left foot from outside the box and the ball flies just over the bar.

Brandon Kavanagh is on for Joe Thomson as Derry make their first sub of the night.

Pats the better team in the second half with goal providing a huge boost to Tim Clancy's side. A few more mistakes creeping into Derry's game now.

Pats equalise. A corner comes to nothing but then Eoin Doyle flashes a ball across which hits off a Derry player. The ball falls to Tom Grivosti and he hits a great strike into the net to draw Pats level.

Half-time at the Brandywell with Derry leading 1-0. Will Patching has been the standout player and it was his goal on four minutes that has the hosts ahead.

One extra minute added at the Brandywell.

McGonigle nearly scores for Derry. Patching takes the ball of a Pats defender before giving it to McGonigle whose shot hits the wrong side of the post.

Billy King has really grown into the game for Pats. He whips in another ball from the left hand side but it goes wide. He has been very energetic so far though.

Patching nearly has his second goal but Anang does well to get down to his near post.

Billy King nearly levels it for Pats. His header hits off the bar from a great ball by Eoin Doyle who has been playing very deep so far.

Nothing comes of it however and it's a free out to Derry.

Better from Pats in the last few minutes. Darragh Burns has been lively down the right and side and wins a free kick.

Another chance for Derry. Joe Thomson had an overlap on his right but takes on the shot himself which goes well wide.

Challenge on Boyce from Billy King which is a tackle more in frustration than anything else from the Pats player.

Corner for Derry, Ananga does well to punch the ball clear amid a lot of pressure.

Derry applying a high press, especially off Anang's kick outs which is causing a lot of problems for Pats who have struggled to gain a foothold in the game so far.

Jamie McGonigle has an effort from the right and comes close with a left footed shot which fizzes past Anang's net.

All Derry at the minute with Patching continuing to cause problems for Pats down the left hand side.

What a goal by Will Patching. A beautiful strike off his right foot from outside the 18 yard box. An honourable mention to Cameron Dummigan who started the move with a beautiful pass out to Patching.
