Sustained Derry possession earns the Candystripes a corner which is eventually dealt with by the UCD defence. The home side are struggling to get any foothold in the proceedings.

Matty Smith is a significant threat down the Derry left flank. This time he easily beats Eric Yoro and drills a shot which is well blocked by Gallagher.

UCD'S shape has shifted slightly with Ryan slotting in on the left to create a back 5 for the Students when out of possession in an effort to shore up the back. The shape is inviting Derry forward.

Post again! The away side will be scratching their heads here. McGonigle is finding plenty of space behind the UCD defence who try and aid their sides press. On this occasion, he holds the ball up and it falls to Brandon Kavanagh. His lofted effort hits the top of the UCD bar, feels like it's only a matter of time at this stage.

Derry City have settled into the game confidently and are stroking the ball around with swagger despite an energetic UCD press. UCD's Sean Brennan is currently down receiving treatment.
