Zambra excited for Premier Division return

After a longer than expected sojourn Longford Town are back in the top flight this season after their playoff exploits last term. While he joined our LOI podcast as a co-host this week we quizzed Dean Zambra about Longford’s pre-season so far and expectations for the season ahead.

The midfielder who spent five or six seasons as a Premier Division regular with Bray Wanderers before a two season break in 2015 to travel. He’s been a mainstay with Longford Town since returning for the 2017 season under Alan Matthews before the Neale Fenn era where he picked up the captains armband, a role he kept under current boss Daire Doyle.

Dean shares his thoughts on the club’s chances this season and their early installation as many people’s favourites to go straight back down this season. He shares his thoughts on the recruitment of players which has allowed the side to strengthen and increase the depth of talent available to Doyle on the field.

He chats about his time playing in the Texas Premier League during his LOI career break in 2015 & 2016 and bringing that life experience back to his footballing career her at home.
