Akintunde shot is rebounded out from McGinty and falls to Patching. Eventually the ball gets to Parkhouse who fires an effort towards McGinty who drops the ball and is fortunate to get away with it

Halftime in Derry and it remains 0-0. An inflexible opening 45 that began to loosen up as the half went on. Parkhouse and Kenny coming the closest to goals as both fired their shots just over the bar but it would look likely that things would become more accessible after the break as the teams go in search of the win.

Toal's groin injury sees him subbed off just before halftime. Lupano comes in to replace him.

Derry no doubt commanding the recent minutes as we approach halftime. Lafferty and Parkhouse doing well to apply the pressure to John Mahon and co in Sligo's defence

REAL CHANCE! Danny Lafferty does well to overtake his man before playing it into the Parkhouse who skies the ball just over the goal.

Half an hour gone in this very cagey match where neither side have broken through yet. Both Sligo and Derry are eager to avoid going a goal down and it would seem whoever was to break the deadlock may emerge victorious.

Possibly the best chance of the game thus far for either side from Derry. Fitzgerald finds Akintunde in the centre of the box but he fumbles it and it remains 0-0.

Mahon lucky to get away with no yellow card there from Derek Michael Tomney. Patching takes the free but it trails out over the end line.

Quarter of an hour gone in the Brandywell and Derry and Sligo remain in gridlock. With most of the time on the ball in the middle of the park things are yet to heat up between the duo.

Jordan Gibson is really imposing himself into this game from the get-go, as is Harkin on Derry\'s side as both teams are still figuring each other out in these opening stages

Kick off in the Brandywell! Sunny conditions for this Derry versus Sligo fixture

18 year old Johnny Kenny comes into the Rovers side tonight having come off the bench in last weeks game. With two goals to his name so far this season the teenager will be hoping to add to his tally when the game kicks off in less than ten minutes time.

Since Ruaidhri Higgins joined Derry City’s ranks as manager back in April, the side have accumulated 16 of a possible 18 points away from home but are yet to achieve outright success on their own hallowed turf. Will tonight be the night that changes?

The last tie between the pair finished up 1-0 in Derry's favour. Patching snatching their first win of the season with his goal.

Will Patching shone in brilliance for the Red and White Army during their 2-1 heated derby over Finn Harps last Friday and is surely set to be a danger-man for City, while Rovers once again suffered a blow to their title hopes recently with their last run out yielding a 2-0 defeat at the hands of St Patrick’s Athletic.
