Tribesmen down Longford

Second half goals from David Hurley and Max Hemmings earned Galway as the Tribesman kept the pressure on First Division leaders Cork City.

Hurley scored from the penalty spot in the 51st minute after Ed McCormack was hauled down by Mick McDonnell. The home side made it 2-0 in the 73rd minute when Max Hemmings scored from inside the box. Town were reduced to 10 men in the 82nd minute when Dean McMenamy received a second yellow card.

It was a tightly contested first half where Town had several chances but couldn’t put them away. The home side upped their game in the second half and were able to claim the three points.
