Almost all the play in the first half was in Treaty’s final third, and their shaky youthful backline continuously looked nervous on the ball and were punished.
Galway’s lead was doubled just three minutes later through a precise guided header from McCarthy after being picked out from a corner.
Two minutes later, the home side were further in front after Sinead Donovan’s first time cross picked out Brennan who coolly placed the ball into the net.
After just 17 minutes, the game as a contest was all but over as striker Kearns made it four with a brilliant finish from 12 yards out to further condemn Treaty’s woes.
The away side’s weak defence were lucky to concede just four, as Galway went close to enhancing their strong lead with good chances for McKey and Kate Slevin squandered.
Treaty scored a consolation goal in a rather uneventful second half, through a fine finish from Áine Walsh.
