An entertaining game saw Malahide progress to the second round of the FAI Senior Cup after extra time and penalties at Drom this afternoon.

After a scoreless first half the game burst into action after the break with Malahide opening the scoring through Jordi Ebanda Youri but the home side equalised through Cillian Doyle just three minutes later.

On the hour Matthew Barrett pushed the home side into the lead and it looked as if Salthill Devon had done enough to secure the passage to the second round draw only for a late late strike from Ciaran McGahon to force extra time.

Malahide had Dylan McNulty to thank for a fantastic extra time save to force penalties where they emerged 6-5 after the spot kicks.
