Melvin-Lambert set for Pat’s

St Patrick’s Athletic have completed the signing of 18-year-old Reading youth striker Nahum Melvin-Lambert in a loan deal for the upcoming season.

Many Reading fans will have fond memories of Irish footballers like former Pat’s striker Kevin Doyle as well as Senior Internationals Stephen Hunt, David Meyler, and John O Shea.

Melvin-Lambert has scored six times for Readings U23’s. He is a regular at that level having also featured for the U18 side.

Pats will be hoping his fine form in front of goal will continue when Pats play their first game against Shamrock Rovers next month.

“I’m very happy to have joined St Pat’s and I’m looking forward to getting started. I’ve have good conversations with Stephen (O’Donnell) after my agent told me about the option to go on loan. I have heard a lot about the club and the league. This is a great opportunity for me, it’s an exciting challenge and one I’m ready for.”

I’m looking forward to the physical side and the competitiveness of the league and to playing in games with points on the line. I’ll work hard and will be aiming to score some goals at Richmond Park!”

He will also join another Royals Academy graduate Shane Griffin who is also at the club.

Melvin-Lambert has first-team experience already this season. The young striker came off the Carabao Cup bench in a win over Colchester during the start of the season and has also similarly featured against Luton.

Reading issued a statement wishing Melvin-Lambert the best of luck during his time in Ireland.

Everyone at Reading Football Club would like to wish Nahum the very best of luck during his loan spell across the Irish Sea.
