AIL Roundup: Women’s Division Week 4

Week Four of the Women’s AIL Division, became the weekend of Beibhinn Parsons as she made her addition to the league known for Blackrock, while Old Belvedere remain at the summit.

Suttonians 5-78 Railway Union, JJ McDowell Memorial Grounds

Union demolished their Dublin rivals with a 14 try win bonus point result, Amee-Leigh Murphy Crowe with a second half hat trick to wrap off their outstanding performance.

Railway were very often unfazed by their opponents, by half time they were 32-5 ahead, Sutts unable to stop the onslaught with Crowe and Carmen Rodera both crossing for Hat Tricks.

Ballincollig 10-10 Wicklow, Tanner Park

Ballincollig earned their first points of the season in a stalemate with Wicklow. A game that was very low scoring as both failed to register a score in the opening half.

Into the second half Heather Kennedy and Michelle O’Driscoll went over for the Cork side, but Wicklow also crossed for two scores with Sarah Gleeson and Caoimhe Molloy going over.

Blackrock College 36-19 Galwegians, Stradbrook

As debuts go Ireland and Connacht star Beibhinn Parsons had one to remember as she crossed over for five tries, as Blackrock remained unbeaten after a bonus point victory over their Galway based adversaries.

The Ballinasloe women started on the left wing and after a great sevens campaign was in form once again, her addition may be the link for the rock to claim this year’s AIL Crown.

Cooke 0-65 Old Belvedere, Ollie Campbell Park

Old Belvo ran riot against the struggling Cooke side, running in 11 tries in a strong showing away from home. The result leaves them top by four points.

Laura Canty and Aoife Dalton crossed for braces, as they picked apart their opponents in a bonus point win.
