AIL Preview: Division 2B Week 4

It will be the heavyweight showdown of Greystones and Belfast Harlequins that takes centre stage in 2B this weekend, as the competitive nature of this division is evident.

Enniscorthy V Dungannon, Saturday Oct 29th, Alcast Park, 2:30pm

Enniscorthy have struggled to adjust to life in 2B in the opening round of action, taking on third placed Dungannon may prove another challenge.

The Ulstermen climbed up to third after a 28-19 win over Wanderers last time out, they will look to record a second win in a row after defeat to Greystones in week 2 saw them knocked back a step.

Galwegians V Sligo, Saturday Oct 29th, Crowley Park, 2:30pm

A meeting of the provincial rivals out West as Sligo travel to Galway in search of much needed confidence against the bottom placed side in the league.

Sligo lost to Rainey Old Boys with a late try in added time scuppered their chances at a second win of the season, their Galway opponents will be aiming to not lose four in a row having had the worst defensive record in recent weeks.

Greystones V Belfast Harlequins, Saturday Oct 29th, Dr Hickey Park, 2:30pm

Games don’t come bigger than the top two unbeaten teams in the league facing one another. Will one lose the perfect record or could we see a nail biting stalemate on the eastern coast.

In 2B Greystones and Belfast Harlequins have been perfectly matched in terms of ability, three wins and two bonus points each, just the score difference has them separated in the table, with Greystones having the better attack and defence of the two.

Rainey Old Boys V Malahide, Saturday Oct 29th, Hatrick Park, 2:30pm

Rainey old Boys have slowly gathered momentum to climb up to fifth place, a win over sixth placed Malahide could see them leapfrog into the top four if results are favourable elsewhere.

Old Boys claimed a first league win last time out in Sligo, in dramatic circumstances, they now look to build on that against a Malahide side held to a draw by a struggling Scorthy outfit.

Wanderers V Galway Corinthians, Saturday Oct 29th, Merrion Road, 2:30pm

With the top two sides facing each other and Dungannon having the potential to take points, Galway Corinthians look to remain in the top four as they travel to meet Wanderers.

Corinthians dropped to fourth after a heavy 45-17 defeat to Greystones last time out, they aim to continue a promotion push as Wanders too slipped down the table last time out.
