AIL Preview: Division 2A Week 4

Queens University will hope to remain at the top of 2A by Saturday evening, as the other promotion chasers look to continue an upward trajectory in the division.

Ballymena V Nenagh Ormond, Saturday Oct 29th, Eaton Park, 2:30pm

Ballymena will hope to build on their win last time out against UL, when they welcome the side below them Nenagh to Eaton Park.

The teams have the same record in the league, just a bonus point separates them in the table, while Ballymena have scored more their defence is a lot weaker than their Munster counterparts, a nenagh win could see them climb into the top four, the same can be said for Ballymena.

Cashel V MU Barnhall, Saturday Oct 29th, Spafield, 2:30pm

Cashel were knocked off top spot by Queens in Week 3 of the season, taking on a struggling Barnhall they are aiming to continue their high flying form.

The Tipp outfit were strong last year and have built on their form this season, while Barnhall again can show good signs but two losses sees them down to seventh, the one point loss on the opening day to Navan has not knocked Cashel’s confidence as they look to win three in a row.

Dolphin V UL Bohemian, Saturday Oct 29th, Musgrave Park, 2:30pm

Bottom placed UL Bohemian will look to avoid a fourth defeat in a row, when they travel to Cork to meet proevial rivals Dolphin this weekend.

Two teams who have struggled early, Dolphin however do have a win and five points under their belts, a great showing over Blackrock in between two drudgings shows Dolphin have the ability to avoid relegation, this weekend’s tie is a chance to climb back up the table.

Old Crescent V Navan, Saturday Oct 29th, Takumi Park, 2:30pm

Navan will look to continue climbing the table as they aim to return to 1B, taking on second bottom Old Crescent who have struggled in these early stages.

The Leinster outfit will hope to add a third win of the season, Crescent have struggled with their home and away form, having the leakiest defence in the league has also not aided their charges but they have outscored their opponents.

Queens University V Blackrock College RFC, Saturday Oct 29th, Dub Lane, 2:30pm

League leaders Queens University will aim to make it four wins in succession, standing in their way is fourth placed Blackrock College.

Three wins and two bonus points, shows that Queens have not lost their mojo from last year, so unlucky not to have gone up to 1B, Blackrock will look to claim a huge scalp against one of the divisions early favourites.
