AIL Preview: Division 2C Week 4

Instonians are aiming to record a fourth win in a row as they continue to occupy the summit of 2C, with the chasing pack not far behind.

Ballina V Instonians, Saturday Oct 29th, Heffernan Park, 2:30pm

Instonians are aiming to remain unbeaten for the fourth successive weekend as they travel to bottom placed Ballina.

The visitors have been perfect in the division this season, three bonus point wins has them on max points, while their hosts have just one point, coming off a losing bonus point result to Bangor.

Bangor V Bruff, Saturday Oct 29th, Upritchard Park, 2:30pm

Bangor will look to bounce back from a loss to Instonians last time out and return to winning ways at home to Bruff.

Bruff slipped down the table last time out in a narrow 15-7 defeat to Skerries, the result could have been positive but not since the opening weekend have they won a game. Bangor will look to take full advantage and get back to winning ways.

Omagh Academicals V Sundays Well, Saturday Oct 29th, Thomas Mellon Playing Fields, 2:30pm

Very little separates Omagh and Sundays Well as they meet this weekend, bonus points have been pivotal in seeing Academicals sit in fifth in the table.

Omagh just suffered defeat to Midelton last time out in a cracker at Towns Park, 28-26 it finished as they dropped out of the top four, Well moved up to eight after defeating another struggling outfit in Ballina.

Skerries V Clonmel, Saturday Oct 29th, Holmpatrick, 2:30pm

Skerries hopes of contesting the promotion battle this year having taken a blow in the opening three weekends, with two wins they could get a third against Clonmel this weekend.

The Dubliners sit just ahead in the table but regained form last time out over Bruff, having been heavily beaten at home by Instonians the week before. Clonmel could be on course for a third straight defeat, it was a narrow loss last time out to Tullamore this time they will hope to improve and leapfrog their opponents.

Tullamore V Midleton, Saturday Oct 29th, Spollanstown, 2:30pm

The remaining two teams in the top four push go head to head this weekend, both climbed up the table last time out, it will now be a case of holding the position or building on it for both.

Tullamore left it late in defeating Clonmel last time out, while their opponents also had a dramatic tie against Omagh, little separates them in the table, Tullamore have the much better points scored of the two, while Midleton’s defence has been stronger, which will give up first this weekend is hard to imagine.
