Enniscorthy jumped to top in the Energia All-Ireland League, Men’s Division 2C, the Wexford side taking full advantage of Skerries being defeated, as we head for the winter break.

Bangor 27-15 Skerries, Upritchard Park

Bangor have ended the unbeaten run of Skerries, an impressive bonus point win keeps them in third place in the table, the early leaders pushed by the Ulster club, as they slip into second spot.

Mike Weir crossed early for the hosts, before Skerries added a penalty to reduce the gap, 5-3 in the early exchanges. Bangor crosses for two quick tries to make it 15-3, midway through the opening half, before Skerries crossed to make it 15-8.

The Dubliners levelled matters with another try in the second half, the game turned on its head and looked to be a close affair but Shay Storey crossed for his second of the afternoon, followed by a Mark Widdowson try to get the bonus point.

Bruff 34-14 Sundays Well, Kilballyowen Park

Bruff climbed up the table after dispatching bottom placed Sundays Well, the bonus point win giving them just their second win of the season, in the Munster derby.

Bruff ran in three quick tries, Mark Fitz, Kevin Tracey and Ross O’Brien all crossed to make it 17-0. Well responded with two quick tries to reduce the gap to three, as the Limerick club had a man in the sin bin.

Davy O’Grady added another try with the conversion making it 24-14, Paul Collins landed a late penalty, before Jack O’Grady crossed for the final try of the afternoon.

City Of Derry 20-0 Omagh Academicals, Judges Road

Derry hang just above the bottom two places in the table, their third win of the season keeping them eight spot, a narrow margin keeping them away from the teams above.

Clonmel 15-31 Enniscorthy, Ardgaoithe

Enniscorthy took top spot in the table after an impressive bonus point win over Clonmel, their eight win of the season sees them ahead by three points.

Both clubs exchanged penalties early in the first half, before Scorty added another three pointer and crossed for their opening try to make it 11-3. Another try followed by a penalty pushed their lead out to 19-3 at half time.

The Wexford club added their third try of the afternoon just after the restart, making it 26-3, before Clonmel responded with an unconverted try. Scorty added their fifth try near the end of the second half to pull out a 31-8 lead, as the hosts crossed for a late consolation try under the posts.

Midleton 27-13 Tullamore, Towns Park

Midleton picked up their fifth win of the season, as they overcame Tullamore this afternoon. The Cork club looked strong from the off, and finished with a flurry to remain in fifth spot.

The Munster outfit led 10-3 at the break, a strong second half performance saw them break through and add to their scoring tally, as Tullamore only managed a try and a penalty in the second half.
