Preview: AIL – Men’s Division 1A

Round 11 of the Energia All-Ireland Division 1A gets underway on Saturday afternoon, with all five games taking place at 2:30pm. 

Clontarf head into the weekend at the top of the table, winning nine of their first 10 games. Lansdowne find themselves two points behind the league leaders ahead of their match UCD. 

Ballynahinch vs Terenure College, Ballymacarn Park

Ballynahinch will look to rebound from last week’s 47-17 loss to Lansdowne as the welcome Terenure College to Ballymacarn Park.

Terenure College won this fixture the last time the two teams met at Ballymacarn Park, winning 19-22 in a tight match in October 2019.

Cork Constitution vs UCC, Temple Hill

Sixth meets ninth as Cork Constitution welcome UCC to Temple Hill. Cork Constitution heads into this game just two points behind Terenure College in fourth.

Both teams suffered defeats in the previous round, with Cork Constitution losing to Terenure College and UCC suffered a massive defeat to Dublin University at the Mardyke.

Dublin University vs Clontarf, College Park

Last weekend’s big winners Dublin University come into this game on a high as they host leaders Clontarf at College Park.

Clontarf have lost just once this season, and produced a dominant performance to beat Dublin University 27-7 in the reverse fixture. 

Garryowen vs Young Munster, Dooradoyle

Young Munster came from behind to defeat UCD last week and now face Garryowen at Dooradoyle.

The away side find themselves just six points behind Lansdowne in second heading into this match, and are looking for their second win since the restart last week.

UCD vs Lansdowne, Belfield

Second place Lansdowne will look to keep their winning run alive as they head to Belfield to take on strugglers UCD. 

Lansdowne boast the best attack in the league, scoring 301 points in the league. While UCD have the worst, scoring just a mere 123 points.
