Preview: AIL – Men’s Division 1A

Round 14 of the Energia All-Ireland Division 1A gets underway on Friday night, as Clontarf face off with Lansdowne in a crucial clash at the Aviva Stadium. 

While in the other games Terenure College will look to keep the pressure on the league leaders and extend their unbeaten run once again as they face Dublin University. In the other big fixture fifth placed Young Munster will look to halt a run of three straight losses as they face UCC. 

Lansdowne vs Clontarf, Aviva Stadium

First meets second as league leaders Clontarf head to Aviva Stadium to take on Lansdowne.

Clontarf head into this match having won 12 of their 13 games, with their only blemish coming against Lansdowne back in November.

Terenure College vs Dublin University, Lakelands Park

High-flying Terenure College plays host to mid-table Dublin University at Lakelands Park. 

Terenure College will look to win their 10th straight game, after overcoming a 17-3 deficit to defeat Garryowen 17-18 in Limerick. 

Young Munster vs UCC, Tom Clifford Park

Young Munster will look to return to winning ways as they welcome bottom of the table UCC to Tom Clifford Park. 

Both teams will look to rebound from losses last weekend as Young Munster suffered a 22-14 loss at Clontarf and UCC fell to a 9-19 at home to Ballynahinch. 

Cork Constitution vs Garryowen, Temple Hill

Cork Constitution will look to make it four games unbeaten as they face seventh placed Garryowen at Temple Hill.

The two teams played out a thriller in the reverse fixture back in November as Cork Constitution edged Garryowen 21-23 at Dooradoyle.

Ballynahinch vs UCD, Ballymacarn Park

Ballynahinch will look to pick up back to back wins for the first time this year as they face UCD at Ballymacarn Park.

The hosts picked up their first win of the season as nine points from Greg Hutley gave Ballynahinch a 9-19 win at UCC.
