UL Bohemian 28-0 Suttonians, UL South Campus

UL Bohemian were awarded a 28-0 bonus point win over Suttonians as they conceded the fixture on Saturday, UL are now through to face Railway in a repeat of last year’s decider.

Ballincollig 5-20 Wicklow, Tanner Park

Wicklow ended their cup campaign with a strong win against Ballincollig played in some terrible conditions in Tanner Park on Saturday evening.

Saoirse O’Reilly gave Wicklow an early 5-0 lead, soon after Ballincollig struck the equaliser as Meaghan Kenny crossed the whitewash for the home side. Wicklow would finish the half the better and in a game where the forwards did a lot of the heavy lifting. Second row Jessicia Griffey restored the lead for the visitors with their second try.

Into the second half conditions did not favour either team, both pressed and looked to take their scores, it would be until the very end of the half to see further scores, Naoise O’Reilly and Alannah Dixon going over late on to secure a bonus win away from home.

Cooke 21-17 Galwegians, Newforge Sports Complex

Neither Cooke or Galwegians could secure their spot in the Women’s Cup Final and will instead battle it out once again for the Shield Final.

Kelly McCormill was back from the Celtic Challenge and played a pivotal part in getting on the board in the opening half for the hosts. lse van Staden and McCormill both crossed for tries which Amanda Morton converted and despite Sinead O’Brien and Gemma Faulkner crossing for Wegians, the hosts took a 14-10 lead to the break.

Both sides notched a try in the second half with Tara O’Neill’s contribution proving vital for the host’s in taking third spot in the table, Emma O’Leary would cross for Wegians and Emma Keane would strike the conversion, O’Neill however was the hero and Morton made no mistake kicking her third conversion and now Cooke could be lifting silverware next weekend if the keep this form going.
