AIL Roundup: Division 2A Week 3

Queens University are still the front runners in Division 2A as they look to go up this year, while Cashel drop down into second place.

Nenagh Ormond 20-36 Cashel, New Ormond Park

Cashel edged the Tipperary derby on Friday evening as they commanded the tie against Nenagh

A second bonus point win of the season for Cashel, but results elsewhere see them drop to second.

Blackrock College 31-19 Old Crescent, Stradbrook

Blackrock climb to fourth with a bonus point win over Old Crescent, their second win gives them confidence after just three games.

The hosts pulled away in the opening half for 31-0 lead as the Shannonsiders were struggling.

Crescent did put in a hard-fought second half comeback as they crossed for three tries to reduce the deficit.
MU Barnhall 18-20 Queen’s University, Parsonstown

Queens were made work to defeat a plucky Barnhall on the road and continue their unbeaten streak in the Division.

James Wright crossed early before a penalty by McMaster gave them an 8-0 lead, Barnhall landed two penalties to make it 8-6 by HT.

Graham Curtis got their second try of the day after 47 minutes to make it 13-6 before Barnhall added another try.

Ben Heath looked to wrapped the game up with five to go as his try and a McMaster conversion made it 20-11. However Barnhall picked up a losing bonus point with a late score.
Navan 29-12 Dolphin, Balreask Old

Navan are up to third place int he table, as they looked composed defeating Dolphin on Saturday.

Navan started on top and did little to see the, slip up on route to the victory.
UL Bohemians 20-24 Ballymena, UL Arena

Ballymena recorded a second win of the season against bottom of the table UL Bohs on the road.

The Ulstermen led 17-10 at the break, however Bohemians brought it to 20-17 minutes into the second half.

Ballymena hit back to cross for a converted try late in the half to take home the points.
