Leinster run riot over Glasgow Warriors

Leinster produced a sensational 12 try display as they overpowered the Glasgow Warriors in a dominant 76-14 win in the United Rugby Championship quarter-final at RDS Arena.

It was men against boys for the majority of the afternoon in Dublin as Leo Cullen’s team obliterated a Warriors team featuring 17 internationals, and also meant Leinster returned to winning ways following their heartbreaking Champions Cup defeat to La Rochelle last weekend.

Despite the hammering Glasgow surprisingly started the better of the two sides and threatened to spring a potential shock in Dubin thanks to Zander Fagerson’s early try. However, that proved to be as good as it got for the Warriors.

Richie Gray’s yellow card in the 15th invited the hosts back into the game and Leo Cullen’s team made Glasgow pay. Leinster scored three tries in a devastating eight minute spell to take the game away from the visitors.

Glasgow failed to recover as Leinster ran rampant, scoring another nine tries to wrap up a comprehensive win, their eighth successive win in the URC knockout stages and secure a home semi-final against the Bulls next weekend.
