Preview: Lidl NFL Div 3 Week 4

Kildare welcome Louth to Hawfield in a top of the table clash in Division. Both teams have recorded three wins from three games. Sligo are bottom of Division but hoping that changes on Sunday when they take on Wexford.

Down v Longford, Sun 19th Feb, Páirc Esler at 1pm

Boosted by their first win of the campaign in their last game, Longford travel to Newry in the hope of picking up more points but they face a Down side who recorded a fine win over Wexford in their last game.

Down were behind by three at half-time but made a comeback in the second half, Wexford failed to score after the break. It was Down’s second win in a row.

After losing their opening two games, Longford defeated Offaly in their last game. It was a much needed win for a Longford side, who are very much in transition.

Sligo v Wexford, Sun 19th Feb, Collooney at 2pm

After three games Sligo are bottom of the table without a point but in their last two games have battled hard, without getting a positive result.

Last time out they made a fightback against Louth but lost out in the end by just one point. They’ll hope their luck changes at home against Wexford.

Wexford suffered their first defeat in the league in their last game. Down came away with a win point win. It was disappointing for Wexford who were ahead at the break but failed to score in the second half.

Offaly v Clare, Sun 19th Feb, Bretland Park at 2pm

Offaly are without a point in the league but will hope that changes when they welcome Clare to Clara.

In their last game Offaly lost to Longford by three points. It was their third defeat in a row but they can take positives out of the game.

After making a winning start to the league, Clare have lost their last two games. The defeat to Kildare hurts because they could’ve got something out of that game.

Kildare v Louth, Sun 19th Feb, Hawkfield at 2pm

A top of the table clash in Hawkfield. Most expected Kildare to be in that position but Louth have surprised many so far.

Both sides have three wins from three. Kildare are favourites for promotion. After two big wins they had to overcome a dogged Clare side in their last game.

Louth were made to work hard for their win against Sligo. They had been in control but the Connacht county came back at them and the Wee County were able to hold on for the win.
