Preview: Lidl NFL Div 2 Week 4

There are two Ulster derbies in Division 2. Monaghan welcome Cavan to Donaghmoyne. Both sides have one win apiece and are looking to keep a distance between themselves and the bottom. Leaders Armagh are hoping to make it four wins from four when they travel to take on Tyrone in Omagh.

Tipperary v Laois, Sun 19th Feb, Fethard at 2pm

Tipperary have three wins from three in Division 2 and sit just behind leaders Armagh, on score difference.

Tipp have overcome Westmeath, Cavan and Roscommon. The game against the Rossies was a low scoring affair. Aishling Moloney’s second half points helped her side to another win.

Laois played out a six-goal thriller against Tyrone in their last game. They came away with a two point win. This will be a big test for last year’s All-Ireland Intermediate Champions.

Monaghan v Cavan, Sun 19th Feb, Donaghmoyne at 2pm

A local derby in Donaghmoyne with two sides level on three points; Monaghan just ahead on score difference.

Both sides have just one win so far. Monaghan’s only win came in their second game against Tyrone. In their last game they were defeated by Armagh.

Cavan picked up their first win of the campaign last time out when they defeated Westmeath by one point. Aisling Gilsenan’s free at the end was the difference. Very much all to play for in Monaghan.

Tyrone v Armagh, Sun 19th Feb, O’Neill’s Healy Park at 2pm

Tyrone will be avoiding their third defeat in a row when they welcome leaders Armagh to Omagh. They started the league with a win over Roscommon but then fell to Monaghan and Laois.

Their last game was an excellent game of football but Laois were able to hold on in the end for the win. They’ll have to defend well against Armagh.

Armagh have three wins from three and have been impressive so far in the league but know every team will raise their game against them.

Roscommon v Westmeath, Sun 19th Feb, Kiltoom at 2pm

Roscommon who are still without a point welcome neighbours Westmeath to Kiltoom. Just three points separate the sides with Westmeath picking up a win against Laois in their last game.

The Lake County looked like they’d earned a point against Cavan in their last game but lost to a late pointed free. They lost Vicky Carr through a yellow card and Cavan used it to their advantage.

The Rossies fell to their third defeat of the campaign against Tipperary in their last game. It was a low scoring game but the class of Aishling Moloney proved the difference.
