Antrim 2-15 Sligo 3-06

Antrim picked up their first points of the campaign with a six points win over Sligo in Belfast. This result sees the Saffrons move off the bottom of the table and Sligo replace them.

Antrim kicked over the opening score before Sligo scored 1-01 to take the lead. The opening half was tight and a point from Lara Dahunsi saw the sides level at half-time – 0-07 to 1-04.

Two points in the early exchanges of the second half gave Antrim the lead. Sligo replied with two goals. The sides were level in the 55th and the game was in the balance. Antrim scored two late goals from Hanna Donaghy (penalty) and Ana Mulholland gave the Saffrons a vital win.

Louth 1-08 Clare 1-12

Fidelma Marrinan scored 1-03 for Clare in the latter stages of this game to give them a four point win over Louth in Darver. It moved the Banner County to the top of the table on score difference.

The home side made a good start to the game but Clare hit back with seven unanswered points to give them a five point lead at half-time – 0-08 to 0-03.

Credit to Louth they worked hard to get back into the game and a goal from Lucy White drew them level with minutes remaining. Marrinan had other ideas though.

Offaly 0-04 Down 0-13

A strong second half display saw Down move up to third in the table with a nine point win over Offaly in Edenderry.

There was very little between the sides in the opening half with Down going in at half-time three points in front – 0-06 to 0-03.

The home side could only add one more point to their tally in the second half; that came near the end of the game. Down upped their game after the break and ran out deserving winners in the end.

Roscommon 1-10 Wexford 0-08

Roscommon recorded their fourth win of the campaign with five points to spare over Wexford in Kiltoom.

Wexford registered the game’s opening point but Roscommon replied with three points to give them a two point lead. That was the lead between the sides as Roscommon went in 0-05 to 0-03 in front at half-time.

The sides were level twice in the second half. With six minutes remaining Roscommon were ahead by just one before Kate Nolan found the back of the net for the game’s only goal. Laura Fleming kicked over a late point to give the Rossies a fine win.
