“Everyone is going in the same direction”, – Doyle

Current Kildare captain Eoin Doyle believes the Kildare players have responded well and are doing everything that is asked of them by new manager Glen Ryan, ahead of their Leinster SFC final against Dublin this Saturday.

The defender is out through a knee injury sustained in his first week back full-training ahead of the Mayo game in the Allianz League in late March after recovering from a groin issue.

Speaking to the Leinster Leader about the new management in Kildare, the Naas man said:

“They are just so demanding what they need to demand, in a manner that players are working hard, and the lads are responding to it.

“These lads (management) have massive history in Kildare; the older players would have seen them playing and look up to them. They are doing everything that is being asked of them.”

The Lilywhites face Dublin in Croke Park with a 5pm throw-in time scheduled. Kildare lost to the Dubs in the Leinster final last year 0-20 to 1-9.

Regarding some saying Dublin have regressed over the past few years, Doyle still believes they can “make any team look poor very easily.”

Doyle went on to say his Kildare side will need to be at their best if they are to overcome the 60-time winners this Saturday,

“Just look at the talent they had on the pitch against Meath; experience and talent, we will have to be at our best.”

“It is all down to the players, they need to turn up on the day and ensure we deliver on what we can and if we do that, at least you can leave knowing we gave it our very best shot.”
