Derry 1-01 Wicklow 4-10

Wicklow made a winning start to Group B with a comprehensive win away to Derry this afternoon.

Aoife Gorman, Clodagh Fox and Meadhbh Deeney scored first half goals to give the Garden County a 3-04 to 1-01 lead going in at the interval.

Wicklow continued with the scoring in the second half and added 1-06 to their tally. For Derry it was their second defeat in a row.

Leitrim 7-26 Kilkenny 0-05

For the second week in a row Leitrim were clinical and ruthless as they picked up another win in Group B of Division 4.

The game was over as a contest at half-time with Leitrim holding an unassailable lead of 5-34 to 0-03. Laura O’Dowd (2), Leah Fox, Vivienne Egan and Bronagh O’Rourke all found the back of the net in that opening half.

Leah Fox scored two more goals after the break (one from the penalty spot) to secure another fine win for Jonny Garrity’s side.
