Preview: Lidl NFL Div 3 Week 3

After losing to Wexford last weekend Clare will want to get back to winning ways when they play host to unbeaten Kildare while at the bottom Longford and Offaly will hope to pick up their first points when they meet in Killoe.

Wexford v Down, Sunday 5th Feb, Enniscorthy at 1pm

Wexford will want to secure their third win from three when they take on Down this weekend in Enniscorthy. Down picked up their first win of the campaign last weekend against Sligo.

After losing the Division 3 final and the All-Ireland Intermediate final last year Wexford are out to claim some silverware this year and have been impressive so far.

Down fell to Kildare in their opening game but bounced back against Sligo. It’s another tough test for the Mourne County against a hungry Wexford side.

Clare v Kildare, Sunday 5th Feb, Cooraclare at 2pm

Kildare currently top Division 3 and will be hoping to record their third win from three when they make the trek to Clare.

Diane O’Hora’s side have had two fine wins over Down and Longford. They have been clinical in those games but Clare will provide a stern test for the Lilywhites.

Clare suffered their first defeat of the campaign last weekend and will not want to drop any more points if they are to bounce back up to Division 2.

Louth v Sligo, Sunday 5th Feb, Darver at 2pm

It’s two wins from two for Louth and they’ll want to continue their winning ways against a struggling Sligo side.

The Wee County have accounted for Longford and Offaly so far in the league and will want to add Sligo to that list and push for a league final place.

Sligo have yet to register a point in the league and will hope their fortunes change in Darver. They’ll know they’ll need to put in a big performance if they are to pick up any points.

Longford v Offaly, Sunday 5th Feb, Emmet Park at 2pm

Two sides who are without a point in the Division clash in Killoe. Longford have found the going tough so far in the league. They’ve lost to Louth and Kildare.

Offaly have lost to Wexford and Louth. They started both games well but failed to build on that. They’ll hope their fortunes change against Longford.

Longford are a side in transition but know they need to pick up points soon if they are to stay in Division 3. This is a big game for both sides.
