Preview: Lidl NFL Div1 Week 3

After picking up their first win of the campaign last weekend, Meath face a stern test on Monday afternoon when table toppers and unbeaten Galway travel to Navan. Mayo are without a point and they take on Waterford in Dungarvan on Sunday.

Kerry v Donegal, Saturday 4th Feb, Austin Stack Park at 12pm

Donegal must wonder when their luck will change. In their previous two games they’ve been in contention but lost out in the final stages.

Kerry have had to show their fighting spirit in their previous two games and have picked up two wins.

Home advantage could count this afternoon as the Kingdom look to remain unbeaten. Donegal know they need a win badly if they are to remain in Division 1.

Waterford v Mayo, Sunday 5th Feb, Dungarvan at 2pm

Waterford will have mixed emotions about their draw with Cork last weekend. It was their first point of the campaign but they very nearly got the 3 pts only to be denied in stoppage time.

Mayo are just one point behind Waterford in the table but have yet to register a point. They will feel aggrieved that they didn’t get something out of the game with Kerry last weekend.

It’s a big game for both counties. A win is crucial for either side.

Meath v Galway, Monday 6th Feb, Páirc Tailteann at 1.15pm

Meath will hope to build on last weekend’s win over Donegal when they entertain Galway in Navan.

After a disappointing loss to Dublin in their opening game, Meath bounced back last weekend in Donegal but were made to work hard for the win.

Galway have two wins from two. They were impressive last weekend in their nine point win over Dublin. They’ll want to continue their fine form against the defending league and All-Ireland champions

Cork v Dublin, Monday 6th Feb, Páirc Uí Rinn at 3pm

Over the years these two sides have produced some classic encounters. With just one point separating the sides, a win would be big for either side in their hope to reach the final.

Cork left it late to get a point against Waterford last weekend while Dublin fell to Galway. Dublin had defeated Meath in their opening game while Cork beat Mayo.

Both sides know they’ll need to put in an improved performance this weekend in Cork, if they are to come away with a win.
