Review: Lidl NFL Div 4 Group A Week 1

In the opening games of Group A Carlow had a resounding win over London at Netwatch Cullen Park while All-Ireland Junior champions Antrim recorded a seven point win over Fermanagh.

Carlow 5-09 London 1-04

Sara Doyle scored 2-4 and Caoimhe Jordan 2-0 as Carlow made a winning start to Group A of Division 4.

The sides were level 0-2 apiece before Jordan scored her and her side’s first goal. Carlow were ahead by two points at the break 1-03 to 0-4.

Cliodhna Ní She scored a second goal for Carlow at the beginning of the second half. They began to keep the scoreboard ticking over with three more goals for an excellent win.

Antrim 1-13 Fermanagh 1-06

Antrim had seven points to spare over Fermanagh in their opening game of Group A. It was a big win for the Saffrons who also got the better of Fermanagh in the All-Ireland Junior final replay.

Orlaith Prenter scored 0-9 points in this win. Fermanagh had made a fine start to the game with an early goal from Laura Grew.

Aoife Taggart got a goal for Emma Kelly’s side as Antrim held a seven point lead at half-time. They were able to hold onto that lead in the end.
