Preview: Lidl NFL Div 1 Week 4

Top of the table Kerry welcome Dublin to Tralee this afternoon. The Kingdom have three wins from three while the Dubs overcame a dogged Cork side in an absorbing game of football last time out. Mayo, who are still without a point, travel to Navan to take on All-Ireland and Div 1 Champions Meath. 

Meath v Mayo, Sat 18th Feb, Páirc Tailteann at 2pm

Mayo are still without a point in the league so far face a daunting trip to the home of the All-Ireland Champions. 

After losing out to Dublin in their opening game Meath have bounced back with a win over Donegal and then a draw against Galway.

Mayo lost their opening game to Cork by five points but then lost to Kerry by just one point and Waterford, the last day out by two. They’ll hope their luck changes in Navan.

Kerry v Dublin, Sat 18th Feb, Austin Stack Park at 5.15pm

Top of the table Kerry meet a Dublin side who are just three points behind them in Tralee. Kerry are unbeaten so far in the league, with three wins from three.

Louise Ní Mhuircheartaigh’s penalty proved to be the difference as Kerry defeated Donegal by two points in their last game.

Dublin played out a fantastic game of football against Cork in their last game. Carla Rowe’s free at the end earning the Dubs a one point win. Another entertaining game is in prospect here.

Donegal v Waterford, Sun 19th Feb, Lettterkenny at 1pm

Donegal are bottom of the table and without a point after three games. They’ll be hoping that changes when they welcome Waterford to Letterkenny.

In their last game they were defeated by Kerry, just two points separated the sides at the end of the game. 

After losing their opening game, Waterford have picked up four points in their last two games. In their last game they defeated Mayo by two points. Those results are a huge boost for the Deise.

Galway v Cork, Sun 19th Feb, Pearse Stadium at 2pm

An intriguing battle is in store in Salthill when these two sides meet. Galway are unbeaten in the league but behind leaders Kerry but two points. Cork are on four points, three points behind the Tribeswomen.

Galway earned a draw against Meath in their last game; Aoife O’Rourke’s last minute free saw them come away from Navan with a point.

Cork produced an excellent performance but lost out to Dublin by one point in their last game. They had been down by 10 points at the break. They’ll not want to give Galway a start like that.
