Preview: Lidl NFL Division 4 Round 5

After suffering their first defeat of the campaign Leitrim will look to bounce back this weekend at home to Limerick. Limerick will provide a tough test for Leitrim. The Treaty County are unbeaten in Division 4 and lie just one point behind Leitrim.

Carlow have been in fine form so far this season and sit in 3rd place in the table, just two points behind leaders Fermanagh. They’ll hope to keep up their unbeaten start against a Wicklow team that will be buoyed up by their first win of the campaign last weekend.

Derry v Longford, 18th Feb, Celtic Park, 2pm

Longford will be looking to record their second win of the campaign when they visit Derry on Sunday. The home side will be looking to pick up their first point(s) of the campaign as they lie second from bottom.

Last weekend Derry were extremely unlucky to come away from Wicklow without a point, after the home side defeated them by one point. Longford did well as they came from behind to draw with Limerick.

It’s a fifth game in a row away from home for Longford. They’ll be out to pick up a win and keep the pressure on those teams in front of them. Derry will be boosted by that result last weekend, although they lost.

Kilkenny v Fermanagh, 18th Feb, MW Hire Training Centre, Dunmore, 2pm

It’s bottom versus top as Kilkenny take on Fermanagh. It’s another stern test for Kilkenny who have found it tough this season.

Kilkenny have lost their four games so far in the division. They have battled well in games but found the going tough over 60 plus minutes. Fermanagh recorded an excellent win last weekend over Leitrim to move to the top of the table.

The home sides have a score difference of -69 and will face the superb Eimear Smyth who has been in excellent scoring form for the Erne County. It’ll be another win for Fermanagh.

Leitrim v Limerick, 18th Feb, Ballinamore, 2pm

After dropping their first points of the campaign last weekend, Leitrim will look to bounce back when they take on Limerick. Jonny Garrity’s side were knocked off the table last weekend when Fermanagh inflicted a first defeat on them.

Last weekend Limerick were held to a draw by Longford as the Midlanders came from behind to come away with a point. The Treaty County are unbeaten so far this season with two wins and two draws.

Just one point separates the sides with Leitrim in second and Limerick in fourth. Leitrim will want to get back to winning ways but Limerick will provide stern opposition.

Wicklow v Carlow, 18th Feb, Echelon Park, Aughrim, 3.15pm

After picking up their first win of the campaign last weekend, Wicklow will look to build on that when they take on neighbours Carlow.

Carlow have been in fine form so far. They lie in third place in the table, just two points behind leaders Fermanagh. They are also unbeaten.

Wicklow will hope to build on that win against Derry last weekend, while Carlow will be out for their third win of the campaign. They had a great win over Kilkenny last week, keeping the Cats scoreless.
