Preview: Lidl NFL Division 4 Round 4

Second place Fermanagh welcome leaders Leitrim to Donagh in the big game in Division 4 this weekend. Leitrim have a 100% record so far this year and have been clinical in front of the goals. Fermanagh will hope home advantage can help them claim the three points. Limerick lie just behind Fermanagh on score difference and they have a home game against Longford. It’s a fourth away game for the Midlanders who are looking for a second win in this division.

Fermanagh v Leitrim, Sun 11th Feb, Donagh, 2pm

A top of the table clash. Leitrim currently sit top with a 100% record while Fermanagh are back in 2nd, just two points behind them.

Leitrim were ruthless in their last game against Derry. They have been clinical in front of the goals. Fermanagh had a fine win at home to Wicklow.

These two sides met last year in the Division 4 semi-final which Leitrim won by two points. With the form Leitrim have been in at the moment it’s hard to look past them picking up a fourth win in a row.

Kilkenny v Carlow, Sun 11th Feb, Tinryland, 3pm

Bottom side Kilkenny take on neighbours Carlow in Tinryland. Despite putting in battling performances the Cats have yet to pick up a point in the division.

Carlow currently lie 4th in the table. They have one win and two draws. Last time out they were denied a win over Longford, with the Midlanders getting a late equalising point.

Kilkenny will no doubt put it up to Carlow but it should be another win for Ed Burke’s side as they put pressure on the teams in front of them.

Limerick v Longford, Sun 11th Feb, Quaid Park Coolyroe, 2pm

Just score difference separates 3rd place Limerick from 2nd place Fermanagh in the table. With a home game this weekend the Treaty County will hope to stay near the top.

For Longford it’s their fourth away game in a row. They lost their opening game to Fermanagh but bounced back with a win over Kilkenny and a draw against Carlow.

Limerick had a fine win over bottom side Kilkenny in their last game. They are unbeaten so far this season and will want to maintain that.

Wicklow v Derry, Sun 11th Feb, Echelon Park Aughrim, 2pm

Despite picking up a point away to Limerick in their opening game Wicklow have lost their last two games and lie just ahead of Derry in the table on one point.

Derry have struggled and lost their three games. In their last game they were comprehensively beaten by leaders Leitrim. They lie second from bottom.

With the game being at home Wicklow will hope this makes a difference as they go in search of their first win of the campaign. The Garden County recorded a good win over Derry in the league last year.
