Preview: Lidl NFL Division 4 Round 3

After getting their first points on the board last weekend, Longford will hope to build on that but they are facing a Carlow side who will be buoyed up by their 14 point comeback against Fermanagh last weekend.

Leitrim will hope to make it three wins from three and maintain their 100% record when they travel to take on Derry. Derry still await their first points of the campaign

Carlow v Longford, Sun 28th Jan, Carlow IT, 2pm

Carlow produced one of the best comebacks when they came from 14 points down to draw with Fermanagh last weekend. The weather didn’t help either side.

Longford got their first win of the campaign last weekend away to Kilkenny. They’re on the road again. It’ll be a tough challenge against Carlow.

Longford defeated Carlow when the sides met in the Leinster Intermediate Championship last year. Both sides are changed since this year. A win is important as both sides have ambitions of promotion.

Derry v Leitrim, Sun 28th Jan, Faughanvale, 2pm

Derry will be hoping it’s third time lucky as they look to pick up their first points of the campaign but it won’t be easy against early leaders Leitrim.

The Oak Leaf County have lost to Carlow and Limerick so far this season. Leitrim have been impressive with wins over Kilkenny and Wicklow.

Leitrim are the only side with a 100% record in Division 4 and will look to keep that up on Sunday when they visit Derry.

Fermanagh v Wicklow, Sun 28th Jan, Donagh GAC, 2pm

This is a meeting of two sides who hope to be involved in the latter stages of the league campaign.

Fermanagh will be disappointed with last weekend’s result; they were ahead at half-time by 14 points but great credit to Carlow, they came back to earn a dramatic draw. Wicklow conceded four goals as they were defeated by Leitrim.

Every point is vital in this division. Fermanagh are unbeaten while Wicklow await their first win of the campaign.

Limerick v Kilkenny, Sun 28th Jan, Feohanagh/Castlemahon GAA, 2pm

Limerick are level on points with Carlow and Fermanagh in Division 4, just two behind leaders Leitrim. They’ll want to keep the pressure up on those around them with a win at home to Kilkenny.

Kilkenny are bottom of the table after two defeats but they showed up in last weekend’s loss to Longford. They’ll want to keep improving.

Limerick will want to keep their unbeaten run going as they push to stay near the top of the table.
