London easily took care of Derry here at Ruislip winning by a 2-12 to 1-4 scoreline in their Ladies Junior All-Ireland Championship opener.

Beatrice Casey scored a penalty in the second minute to get the Exiles off to a flyer before Erin Doherty brought Derry back on equal terms for the last time of the match a minute later.

Rosin Considine fired in a goal just before the break to make it 2-2 to 0-2 points, in what was a tight enough affair during the first half.

The floodgates opened in the second half, with Casey scoring six points, Rebecca Mills two, and substitute Aoife O’Neill.

Ellen O’Brien was sent off for her second yellow card offence in the last moments of the match, giving Derry no time to take any advantage of getting back into the game.

London will now fancy their chances against Fermanagh and Carlow in the remaining fixtures in Group 2, while Derry will need to bounce back after this defeat.
