Hery set for Bohemians

Keith Long has pulled another rabbit out of the hat swooping to sign former Waterford and Limerick player Bastien Hery from under the nose of St. Patrick’s Athletic.

Hery had been rumoured to have agreed terms with Stephen O’Donnell to join him at Richmond Park but it’s the north side of the capital which will be home to the Madagascar international midfielder who was a fan favourite at both Munster sides during previous League of Ireland spells.

The 28 year old joins after a relatively disappointing spell with Linfield north of the border but will be hoping for an upturn in form when the 2021 League of Ireland season kicks off.

The French born player had started his career with Paris St Germain and had been capped by France in his youth but declared for the country of his grandmother last year and has made three appearances for the African side since his debut in October 2020 against Burkino Faso.

Bohs manager Keith Long was delighted to welcome Hery to Dalymount Park, speaking to the club’s website: “Bastien is a high quality player with great experience, ability and personality.

“We are a young team and I believe these are some of the attributes we need to help us progress.”
