Match Report
A brace from Noelle Murray and a third from Libby Moore was enough for Shelbourne to restore pride in the UEFA Women's Champions League as their changed side easily overpowered the Welsh champions in Lithuania. Murray had seen her penalty pushed onto the post late in the first half but was quick to the rebound and tucked it home under pressure from a Cardiff defender. The Welsh side protested but the touch for the keeper initially was enough to ensure the goal stood. Early in the second half, her second effort was spectacular, sitting deep during an attack the ball was fed back to her from Alex Kavanagh and the experienced forward hit the top corner giving the keeper absolutely no chance to double the advantage. The final nail in the coffin was hammered home when Libby Moore tucked the ball home from close range on the second attempt. The late dismissal of Seren Watkins for a second booking was enough to kill off any hopes Cardiff had of mounting a comeback but both sides campaigns end with this result as Shels will rue their defeat to Glasgow City on Wednesday morning.Murray leads Shels to Champions League win over Cardiff
