Match Report
McJannett delivers for Derry
A smash and grab brace of goals from Cameron McJannett, stole Derry City the three points against Bohemians in Dalymount Park.
The home side will be hugely disappointed, as they dominated this game for large spells and looked to be edging themselves, towards a late goal.
A review of an entertaining evening of football, is dominated by Bohs lack of cutting edge, in front of goal. Decent chances from Andy Long, Keith Ward and substitute, Dawson Devoy, were all repelled.
On the flipside, questions will be asked of Keith Long's defence, who allowed McJannett to header in two second half goals, in the 63rd and 87th minute, respectively.
The opener was the result of a tame header, past a crowded Bohemians goal line from a Will Patching corner kick.
The match winner came from another Patching delivery and again, McJannett headed beyond the reach of James Talbot.
And yet, Bohemians will be left wondering, how this game, if not a point has gotten away from them.
They started so brightly and dominated for long spells of the first half.
Georgie Kelly opened the scoring with a penalty in the 17th minute.
The away side regrouped and played their way back into the game. They should have been level, when a Patching free kick was met by James Akintunde, who smashed a diving header, off the crossbar.
Bohemians led at the break.
The second half was keenly contested, but Bohs started to get back on top, after McJannett scored the leveller.
The Brandywell side, were noticeably tiring in the final ten minutes and it looked like the Gypsies, who were growing in confidence, would find the winner.
However, their search for a home win continues this season, their confidence heavily dented in the process.
Derry's rejuvenation continues, and they will fancy themselves, in their derby clash, with Finn Harps on Monday.

And that is that. Derry City have taken the points. They won't care about the manner of the win, they move up the table. Bohemians' search for a home win goes on.
Cameron McJannett has stolen the win. A goal from nothing and against the run of play. Another Will Patching delivery. What a finish to this game.
Dawson Devoy is making an impact on the game since being introduced. A number of good chances. He'll be annoyed, he didn't find the net.
A tiring Derry side look set to make changes. Bohs are getting top in the last 11 minutes
Dawson Devoy makes his introduction in place of a tiring Tierney
Talbot, in the Bohs goal, made a solid save. Without barely jumping, Cameron McJannett directs a soft header beyond a crowded Bohemian's goal line. Boh's will be very disappointed with that goal.
Joe Thomson replaces Parkhouse
Marc Walsh replaces Jack Malone
Danny Lafferty sees yellow after two quick frees in succession. The second sees Lafferty pull-down Ross Tierney. The resulting free goes harmlessly wide.
A great move by Burt down the left-hand side to find Andy Lyons, who gets the ball into Keith Ward. Ward forces a smart save from Gartside.
No changes at half-time. We are underway again.
An entertaining first half comes to a conclusion. Despite being a goal down, Higgins will be satisfied with how Derry worked their way back into the game in the last 15 minutes. Bohemians will be happy with the lead and they are causing trouble, when they get forward.
Andy Lyons forces a save from Derry's Gartside.
Will Fitzgerald has a half chance as a hopeful shot glances wide
Bohemians have big numbers inside their own half. Derry City are seeking an equaliser. Parkhouse, Harkin and Akintunde are looking dangerous.
Derry City will be pleased with how they have slowed the game down and worked their way back into contention. Entertaining night's football so far.
James Akintunde smashes the cross bar, with a diving header from a superb free kick delivery by Patching.
Ross Tierney picks up Bohs first yellow card of the night and the game's third, as he comes in high on Jack Malone.
Keith Long will be satisfied with Bohemian's early endeavours, they are very impressive here. They will not let Derry settle on the ball.
Jack Malone picks up Derry's second yellow of the evening. A strong challenge on Burt. Parkhouse booked earlier in the half.
Spandau Ballet belts out following a penalty by Georgie Kelly. Gartside sent the wrong way. A short run up. No mistake made. No complaints made by Derry following the awarding of the penalty
Andy Lyons puts off Derry's Aktintunde who tried to capitalize on cross from Harkin.
There was a huge mix-up prior to that chance between Toal and Gartside. Derry are looking like a nervous bartender in defence. A lot of nerves in there.
Saving tackle by Fitzgerald to get the ball away from Ross Tierney. Great saving tackle. Great ball in from Andy Lyons.
Derry City's Lafferty comes in for the injured Coll.
Ciaran Kelly has come into the Bohemian's side for the suspended Finnerty, who was controversially sent off against Rovers
We are underway here, Derry City unbeaten in three and have moved off the foot of the table after Longford Town were beaten 3-0 against St. Patrick's Athletic.
