FULL TIME: Patrick Hoban was the hero in the 90th minute as his spectacular header broke through the tenacious Derry defence to earn Dundalk a crucial draw at Oriel Park. James Akintunde's well-placed goal gave Derry City the lead in the first half, but the Lilywhites dominated the second. Continuous pressure from Dundalk on the visitors paid off as the club's reliable number 9 scored in the dying seconds.

CHANCE: A fantastic ball from Hoban feeds Stephen Bradley who cuts inside and strikes a well-placed shot that just goes wide. Dundalk starting to knock on the door a little bit more now.

SAVE: A cross from Macari is sent into Hoban who tussles with Connolly but the referee blows for a free but that doesn't stop Maher from pulling off a finger tip save.

Joe Adams goes under a challenge and Derry continues to attack and is rewarded with a corner - Glass sends the ball in but Dundalk clears but the secondary ball is back with Derry but they cannot make it count.

Hoban sets O'Kane off who does well to fend off the attention to feed the ball to Leahy but Leahy's cross is well gathered by Maher.

Not much to report here at Oriel, a real midfield tussle between the sides as Dundalk look to exert their dominance in the game. They have come out the better for this second half.

HALF TIME: This has been tense and tight from the start but Derry is in the lead thanks to James Akintunde's early strike that separates the sides.

SAVE: What a save from Brian Maher - Dundalk broke free and Hoban set Ryan O'Kane off and the winger hit a lovely low curling effort that he tipped away.

A dangerous cross was sent into the Dundalk area but Sam Bone could only clear still in his area and Joe Adams picks up the second ball.

A fantastic run from Ryan O'Kane as he lays the ball off to Lewis Macari. His into the area was headed behind by Connolly but the referee awards a goal kick.

Derry City was excellent on the attack here and some patient build-up play finds Glass on the edge of the area but his shot curls over the bar.

WHAT A SAVE! Joe Thompson beats the offside trap and breaks free of the Dundalk defence with just the keeper to beat. Sheppard does absolutely brilliantly to get down and smother the ball.

Ryan O'Kane the young Dundalk winger is set to come on - he will replace Kelly.

More concern for Dundalk as Daniel Kelly jumped for a ball and has gone down in a heap - another muscle injury concern for Dundalk.

Alfie Lewis a July signing for Dundalk FC comes on to make his Dundalk FC debut for Paul Doyle.

It looks like Alfie Lewis is set to come on for his debut for Dundalk.

Paul Doyle is down injured and there is some concern amongst the Dundalk bench - O'Donnell calls his players over as does Higgins for Derry. This is a no holds barred contest thus bar with first blood going to the away side.

GOAL: What a good goal for the away side, James Akindtunde collects the ball on the left-hand side and bore into the area - he bobs and weaves and makes an opening before slotting the ball past Sheppard on the six-yard box.

CHANCE: A clever ball from Sloggett to Bradley and it looked as if he was going to pull the trigger after going onto his left foot, he however chips the ball to the back post but Hoban outstretched just missed the cross.

Two corners by Declan Glass are sent into the Dundalk area, while the first was handled well the second required Greg Sloggett to clear at the second attempt.
