Match Report
Treaty sent Kerry packing with a 3-1 home win at Markets Field in their 100th competitive fixture, despite being level at the break. The prolific Enda Curran opened the scoring before a Mark Walsh own goal levelled the tie. Curran once again have Treaty the lead after half time while Sean Guerins put the icing on the cake in the dying stages of normal time. A fast start from both teams as Leo Gaxha and Stephen Cristopher both flashed efforts wide for the respective sides. Gaxha fired over as Kerry looked for the opener but Conor Barry almost came within a whisker of scoring for his side. 17 minutes in and Treaty took the lead through Enda Curran, Kerry looked for a reply but almost went 2-0 down as Marc Ludden looked to lob Arthur Nganou but the effort was well off the mark. Shy of the half hour mark a Sean McGrath cross was turned into the Treaty net by Mark Walsh. A disaster from Treaty as Kerry were right back in the contest. Curran looked to restore the hosts lead but it flew over the bar, while McGrath had a shot on target that failed to beat Corey Chambers. A share of the spoils going into the interval. Into the second half and Barry tried another effort but Nganou did well to get down and claim the shot. Kerry almost came close to taking the lead after 52 minutes, Ryan Kelliher had an effort saved by Chambers, the rebound fell to McGrath who had his shot saved off the line by Robbie Lynch. Chambers was needed again this time to top over an effort from Sean O'Connell from range, Treaty rang the changes and after 69 minutes regained their lead, Curran netting his second of the contest. Kelliher almost had a chance to level the tie for the second time going into the final ten minutes, Gaxha playing a delicate ball into the box but a lack of power saw Chambers have zero trouble in saving. Looking to see out the final few minutes, Sean Guerins made it 3-1 in the 87th minutes, the third goal three minutes from time sealing the three points.Curran Gives Treaty The Points On Clubs 100th Outing
