Match Report
Shels power to home win
Within the opening quarter of this one fans bore witness to a brace from Ryan Brennan, but it was the red cards awarded to Paul Fox and Wexford FC’s manager that were to be the story of the game during Shelbourne’s 4-0 triumph.
Breaking the deadlock seven minutes in Brennan shot to second in the First Division’s top scorer list, and quickly supplemented to his tally; when he converted the penalty given to team-mate Shane Farrell after he was brought down in the box.
The chaos that ensued was unprecedented and left Wexford with a mammoth mountain to climb for the remainder of the fixture.
A welcome relief to shatter their poor run of form, The Reds got their winning ways underway when Ledwidge squared the ball to the man of the hour who powered the ball past Jimmy Corcoran.
To Shels’ jubilation the second was to come off a questionable penalty, but bizarrely the sending offs didn’t result from the infringement itself but instead Fox and Ian Ryan’s subsequent words with the referee.
22 minutes in the Tolka Park outfit were to strike again, this time via Yassine En-Neyah to open his record for this team.
Tensions continued to boil over but the scoreline lingered at 3-0 heading into the interval.
En-Neyah was forced into a substitution after an inflicted injury and he wasn’t in isolation on the subs bench as they continued to roll in and out.
Ally Gilchrist wrapped up the fourth goal of the day to cement beyond any questionable doubt the home groups’ dominance, and while they proceeded to press forward no other mark on the scorecard was to come.
Gavin Molloy replaced George Poynton for his debut in the fiery shirt, only aiding the reasons the household fans had to cheer for.
Increasing their lead at the top of the Premier Division once again beyond doubt, the victory will come as a pleasant reassurance of Shelbourne’s rule and a faint reminder of Wexford’s shortcomings.

Wexford have their team in for this game that is to kick off in under 45 minutes. We await Shelbourne's yet but will bring it to you as soon as available.
Their most recent league match resulted in a 1-1 honour draw at the foot of Treaty United, a late goal by Sean McSweeney robbing them of the entire set of marks.
On the flipside Wexford have indeed tasted success lately during their FAI cup tie versus Killester Donnycarney, but they too will be vying for all three points this evening when they travel to Dublin.
Outcomes having not gone their way in recent times however The Reds will be frenzied for a triumph as they have went without a win in their last three games.
There’s antipode action in the League of Ireland First Division tonight in Tolka Park as anticipated title victors Shelbourne host bottom side Wexford FC (7:45pm). My name is Alanna Cunnane and I'll be bringing you tonights match coverage
