Mikey Johnston has been very lively since coming on, another great run with brilliant footwork but his shot is bravely blocked away for a corner.

The substitutions with an instant impact! Mikey Johnston does what he was brought on to do, runs at the Latvian defence and his shot hits the post. It comes back out and another sub, Ogbene, taps into the empty net.

Ireland's first changes with two experienced players entering the fray, Egan and Ogbene, as well as a debut for Mikey Johnston. Off come Doherty, Omobamidele and Obafemi.

First change of the game goes Latvia's way as Krollis comes on in place of Gutkovskis.

Ireland just haven't been able to create much since really Latvia's first, another wayward effort from Ferguson all to note so far.

The second half starts the same as the first ended as Latvia push forward straight away and get a shot away but it doesn't trouble Kelleher.

Latvia have equalised! A deep free kick is launched towards Ireland\'s box and some dodgy clearances allowed the ball to run out to Zjunzins who fires towards goal and with the aid of two deflections, it beats Kelleher. That brings the first half to a close.

From nowhere Latvia pull one back and it is an absolute screamer. Matt Doherty loses the ball and it ends up with Uldrikis who launches a shot straight into the top right corner past the diving Kelleher.

Ireland have been very good at winning the ball back in Latvia's half and O'Shea does it again, playing the ball to Smallbone who has a speculative shot that slices wide.

There's been some great link up play between midfield and the front two and it almost paid off as Obafemi flicks the ball onto Browne but his tame effort is easily gathered.

Latvia with their first half chances of the game as Ireland take the foot off the gas a little.

It had to be him! Evan Ferguson with his very first goal for the Republic of Ireland senior team! A deep cross from Doherty is kept in play by Obafemi who lays it down for the 18-year-old to tap home. 2-0.

There\'s the early break through! A lovely bit of play out the right hand side for Ireland, Ferguson sweeps the ball out to Doherty who cuts it back to Smallbone. His first time cross is met by the other wing back Callum O\'Dowda who heads into the ground and into the net. 1-0 Ireland.
