Match Report
Bray brush Cabo aside
Bray Wanderers brushed aside Cabinteely in the East Coast derby, in a game that was over by the 17th minute at the Carlisle Grounds.
The visitors barely made the Seagulls sweat, as they took an early lead through Dylan Barnett, after a free-kick came back off the post.
Richie O’Farrell pushed the hosts two in front, with a header shortly after. Substitute Gary Shaw put the result beyond any doubt with a powerful 74th minute strike.
Just 11 minutes were gone on the clock, when Barnett opened the scoring for Bray. A Ryan Graydon free-kick curled over the wall and ricocheted off the post. Barnett had all the time in the world to pick his spot and guide the ball past the ‘keeper.
It was the defender that would create the second goal for the home side. He darted down the left, before putting a cross into a dangerous area. The defence was all at sea and O’Farrell placed his header into the right side of the net.
Two goals down at half-time, Cabinteely had a mountain to climb at this stage.
The new floodlights at the Carlisle Grounds came on for the start of the second period, but neither side particularly shone in the early exchanges after the break.
However, after a decidedly dull 15 minutes, Cabo improved, and for a short spell had the home team pinned in their own box. Dean Casey had the pick of their chances, with a low, drilled shot forcing a save from Wanderers’ shot-stopper Maher.
This spell was short lived though, and Gary Cronin’s men forced their way back on top. In the 74th minute, a scuffed free-kick from out wide bobbled into the box. Falling to the turf to try and get on the end of it, O’Farrell got a touch, and the ball settled at the feet of Shaw.
The strong finish from the number 10 sealed what was in many ways an emphatic performance from the Wicklow outfit. There wasn’t an area of their game that could have been bettered.
For Pat Devlin and Cabo however, there’s almost too much to look at and fix. A lacklustre performance, and hardly any fight. They’ll just have to hope that this is a small blip.

A complete performance from Bray, but worrying for Cabo, they showed very little fight overall.

Bray nearly make it four as a shot just misses the right-hand top corner. The Seagulls are in cruise control now.

Bray are struggling to clear their lines. Cabo have really upped their game in the last 10 minutes.
Zak O'Neill drives the ball low towards the bottom corner, but Maher gets down well and tips wide.
Casey has a shot, and it's well saved by Maher. A rare chance for Cabo.
After a dull opening to the half, Bray are starting to turn the screw and are having all the chances.
O'Farrell heads on goal, but the effort is weak and straight into the arms of Hayden.
Ball into the box and Gary Shaw gets a touch, but a defender gets in the way and deflects the ball out for a corner.
Dean Casey has a shot, but it's well over the bar.
It's been a quiet start to the second-half. A lot of trading of possession, but not much in the final third for either side.
Watters, Aspil and Hanrahan are on for Cabo.

Gary Shaw is on for Luka Lovic at half time.
It was all Bray in the first-half, and they are two up as a result. Cabo haven't been at the races at all, so there needs to be some kind of turn around for them to get anything from this game.

Luka Lovic charges down a clearance and leaves his foot in. Deserved yellow.
Joe Doyle twists and turns and darts down the right, his cross is perfectly on the head of O'Farrell, but the goalscorer can't direct his effort on target.
Adam Hayden plays with fire trying to twist away from an onrushing forward with the ball. He gets away with it, but not the kind of risk to be taking while 2-0 down.
Game is becoming very stop-start with the referee (Kevin O'Sullivan) blowing his whistle every few seconds.
Been a scrappy period after the two goals, Cabinteely have been in the Bray half, but haven't really threatened.
An awful opening 20 minutes for Cabo, they've been dreadful and hardly touched the ball. Pat Devlin will be furious.
O'Farrell scores. Barnett whips in a cross and the Bray man meets it with his head!
The goal is only what Bray deserve, they've dominated possession so far, and looked the most likely to open the scoring.

Lovic has a chance from yards out! Graydon heads the ball across goal, but Lovic can't get a touch on it and it's cleared.
Marty Waters is trying his best up front for Cabinteely, but the direct balls being played are giving him no chance.
A slow start to the game, Bray have had most of the ball. Cabo look content to let the Seagulls play in front of them.
