Doyle double delivers Bray win
Two goals from Bray Wanderers top goal-scorer Joe Doyle ensured his side came away with all three points against Cobh Ramblers at the Carlisle Grounds this evening.
Wanderers held onto their 2-1 lead despite a late push from The Claret and Blue army as Ian Turner’s header was cancelled out by Doyle just before the interval and he bagged a second goal in the 58th minute.
The two additions bring Doyle’s total to six goals so far this year and Bray will be hoping he continues this excellent run of form as they now move into the top five.
Cobh struggled to get into the game in the opening stages but their less than impressive start was made redundant when they went 1-0 up just half an hour in.
Despite Bray’s objections to the officials to consider an offside flag, Ian Turner got on the end of a Darren Murphy cross to score and the goal stood to The Wanderers discontent.
Gary Cronin would have been delighted his intended half-time team talk was thrown out the window when Doyle nabbed one back in the 43rdminute to set things right and restore justice at 1-1.
Often linking up with Dylan Barnett and Luka Lovic throughout the game, he then went on to net his brace with 58 minutes gone and put Bray in the driving seat at 2-1.
Cobh then intensified their attacking pursuits as they threw men forward in an effort to bid for an equaliser and even though they came close in stints their goalkeeper Sean Barron is really the one who excelled for them as the full time whistle neared.
Coming up with two wonder saves in the 87th minute he protected the goals and ensured things didn’t get too out of hand in the closing stages.
There was a nervy four minutes of added time, but Bray managed to hold out in front of their home fans and secure the win to continue to progress up the First Division Table.

Eight minutes into this second half and not much to report on in recent minutes as both sides are struggling to break through. The game still rests at 1-1 at The Carlisle Grounds.
Second half gets underway!
Halftime sees the teams go into the dressing rooms at 1 goal a piece. Bray having dominated much of the opening stages would have been disappointed to go 1-0 down through Turner's header in the 31st minute, but managed to get one back and even things out with Joe Doyle's strike

COBH GOAL! In their only real chance of the game the away side are first to strike on the scoresheet. Arguably against the run of play but Turner won\\\'t have minded that as he headed the ball into the back of the net at the end of Darren Murphy\'s cross. Bray were protesting to the linesman that it was offside but the officials stick with their original decision.
Good break from Cobh see's Cooper chance his arm at goal but it sails well over to the right and wide.
Real chance for Bray is fired wide of the post by Joe Doyle who opted to go near side of the keeper instead of across the face of goal.
Cobh enjoy a stint in the opposition's half but it still remains 0-0 at The Carlisle Grounds with nearly 20 minutes gone
Originating at the end of a quickly taken free kick on the edge of the box, Richard O'Farrell does well to get a shot on goal from an acute angle in the 6 yard box. Resulting corner led to nothing but it's good, progressive play from The Seagulls

With under ten minutes to kick off the teams look ready to go and battle it out at The Carlisle Grounds for the three points. Bray have had a mixed bag of outings in recent weeks, accumulating two wins, two losses and most freshly a draw against Athlone town just seven days ago. Equally as hap-hazard in form lately The Rams are coming off the back of a 3-2 thriller with Wexford FC that saw them leapfrog table neighbours Cork into eighth place.
The premise of tonight's fixture is that The Seagulls are looking to edge closer to the ever elusive top four breakaway, while Cobh will have it in their ambition to go level with Athlone Town with a win tonight on Bray’s home turf.
