Galway were now in control of this match while UCD really needed to be far more inventive than they had been in order to get back into the match. Lorcan Healy was forced into a magnificent save as Galway won the ball high in the UCD half and Hurley, impressive throughout, almost scoring through a wonderful long-range shot.
Galway held on for the victory and it places them three points clear of the Belfield outfit, in second place. Cobh Ramblers will not fancy a trip west to the team on a four match winning streak.
