A lovely bit of skill from Jarret frees her up twelve yards out, Budden gets out well to close down the angle and send the ball out for a corner.

Áine O'Gorman makes it 2-1! Larkin breaks down the right wing and cuts it across to the incoming Áine O'Goran who finishes from point-blank range.

Áine O'Gorman whips in a cross that is met by Thompson who heads toward the centre of the goal and draws a solid save from Williams.

Lia O'Leary sprays a ball into the Wexford box, but Larkin fails to take the ball down and the ball rolls out for a goal-kick.

Maeve Russel equalises! Russel broke down the right-hand side and put in an in-swinging cross that seemingly looked to be going out of play, the ball instead veering towards the back post and pipping Amanda Budden who misjudged the flight of the ball severely.

1-0 to Rovers at the brink of half-time! McEvoy whips in an inch-perfect ball for Garagan who heads home from close range to give her side the lead.

Best chance of the game as Abbie Larkin bolts down the left wing ahead of the Wexford backline-she blasts a shot from the left-hand side that ripples the side-netting.

Michaela Lawrence receives pitch-side treatment for a brief moment but seems to be back healthy as she jobs back on.

Jarett takes the ball on the half-turn at the edge of Rover's box, her shot driving into the bottom-left corner. Budden does extremely well to get down low and paw the ball past her post.

Rianna Jarrett nearly goes through on goal as she latches on a looping ball over Wexford's defence but her legs fail her as Budden beats her to it.

Aoibheann Clancy puts in a corner that's slightly overhit but nearly causes issues for Alannah Budden as she misjudges the ball's flight and is left stranded, luckily no Wexford forwards were lining up at the back post.

Still all square in Tallaght as both teams struggle to find that killer pass that will really help open the game.

Thompson cuts through Wexford's defence with an incisive through ball, Larkin just failing to hold the line as the fourth official flags for offside.

It's been a fairly quiet opening period so far...Thompson's header proving to be the most dangerous effort so far.

Garagn floats in a ball from the right-hand side for Thompson who gets up well to head towards goal, her effort just lacking the pace needed to challenge Maeve Williams.

Rovers get a decent chance to break-Thomposn's ball to Larkin a touch too heavy and is cleared by Conlon.

Abbie Brophy turns Jessica Hennesy on the edge of the box but is only able to muster up a weak effort that falls comfortably into Alannah Budden's hands.

Thompson lifts in a ball that Wexford eventually clear, but not after a brief moment of panic that required Orlaith Conlon to block a goal-bound shot.

No changes for Wexford in the starting XI. For Rovers, Jessica Hennesy comes in for Shuna Fox while Aoife Kelly is dropped in favour of Abby Tuthill.

O'Neill on Wexford Youths: "They’re a very, very good side that have been together a number of years. I said it in the off season that they’d be my favourites to win the league, particularly when you add in the quality of Emily Corbet and Rianna Jarrett. It means they have a very sharp attack at the end of all the good build up play that they have. They’ve players of quality all the way through from Aoibheann Clancy to Kylie Murphy to Corbet and Jarrett up top. There’s real quality players there and they’re still my favourites to win it at the end of the year."

Rovers forward Jaime Thompson has found herself in a rich vein of form this season, backing up a hattrick against Treaty United with a player-of-the-match performance against Shelbourne. Hoops manager Collie O'Neill has spoken glowingly about the eighteen year old, saying: "She’s been brilliant. She’d been very, very unlucky not to start the first couple of games but it’s nice to see the quality that we have. Against Treaty we took Abbie Larkin off and then you had Jaime that came on. She goes to the home of the current league champions and she doesn’t look out of place; in fact, she looks a step above and she’s still only part of the Irish under 19s. She’s going to have a really bright future ahead of her. For the goal, it was a great little drive by Jaime to get past the defenders and it was nice to have Áine coming in at the back post to tap it in. It was good attacking football."
